Our names are Will Ashley, Jo Ashley and Callum Small and together we make up Kayak 4 A Cure.
On the 19th of December 2012 we will be kayaking down the Murray River, a distance of 2,200 km from the Hume Weir to the Murray Mouth. We estimate the trip will take us 40 days and we will be camping on route.
The motives for our trip are twofold; to raise $10,000 for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and to spread a positive message about teenagers living life to the fullest. We are only aged 17 and 18 and are about to set off on the journey of our lives. To contact Kayak 4 A Cure please email us at will.ashley@hotmail.com
“What a great inspiration for other young people. I am encouraged to think that these young people represent a ‘future Australia’”.

”Will, Jo and Callum are a great example of young people doing inspiring things! I wish them the best of luck on their 2,200km kayaking adventure down the Murray River and in their fundraising efforts for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Remember to have some fun along the way too boys!”

“Will, Jo and Callum are undertaking an expedition very close to our hearts – our kayak down the Murray was an expedition that made us the men we are today. Not only are they going to have an AWESOME adventure they’re using it as an opportunity to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation – something that affects each and every Australian. This selflessness is not often seen these days and marks these young men as top blokes to boot.
This is just the beginning for the next generation of Aussie Adventurers…we get the feeling this is just the first of many more expeditions!”
